Terms and conditions
My terms and conditions are all about keeping the studio sustainable. If your situation is not mentioned here, get in touch and we can talk it over.
You can choose your lesson frequency, a.k.a. “block”
A “block” is a number of lessons per week over a chosen number of weeks. For example, the most common lesson frequency is one half hour lesson per week during school terms. Other examples include:
– a one hour lesson per week, agreed for 4 weeks at a time;
– a half hour lesson twice a week, agreed for 4 weeks at a time… etc.
There is no obligation to continue lessons after each block.
If your child is learning at a school, invoices are issued at the beginning of term for the ten week term, but it’s fine to pay in two instalments provided the due dates for payment are respected.
You will need to pay in advance
Lessons are paid in advance of each block or within two weeks of invoices being issued. Payment can be made by cash or direct deposit.
Missing lessons and arriving after our agreed time
Once paid, there is is no mandate to attend all lessons in a block. The payment reserves the lesson time for you, and of course I hope that you come!
I ask that as a general courtesy you give as much notice as possible if you can’t make a lesson, or are running late. If you arrive late to your lesson, the agreed finishing time still applies.
Your fee reserves your time for you
I do need to be fairly strict on the following three points, to ensure the studio is a fair and sustainable place for me and all students:
1. I cannot refund missed lessons, even if they are missed for a very good, and/or unforseen reason;
2. I cannot provide make-up lessons;
3. I cannot transfer a fee from a missed lesson to a later lesson.
If I am sick or unable to teach, I will return the lesson’s payment to you via bank transfer.
